Education Advocation

Education Advocation

Helping Hands strongly promotes academic success to each of our residents. Each school age resident attends school daily at a local elementary, middle, or high school. Residents who have experienced academic difficulty, and are of age, are allowed to attend GED classes to obtain their GED. We also encourage our residents to continue their academic career by applying to and attending technical colleges and universities. Our residents are able to attend college fairs and career panels to broaden their knowledge on what to expect and how to plan for the future.

Residents who are not school age receive educational instruction from the Direct Care Staff on campus or are signed up for other pre - K programs. Direct care staff members are trained to implement the HighScope preschool curriculum using the program - compliant preschool on campus for children ages 3 to 5 years old.
