Community Service Opportunities

Community Service Opportunities

Helping Hands encourages community involvement and awareness with its residents. It is our belief that by teaching civic responsibility, residents are given the opportunity to become productive citizens through volunteer service. Residents volunteer locally quite often at other nonprofit agencies, nursing homes, hospitals, etc. Depending on the children’s level in the programs, they are required to obtain anywhere from 2 to 8 hours of community service. We try to show our children that it is important to give back to others since others are so adamant about giving to our organization.

Our children also participate in the annual United Way Project VISION Day of Caring, which is a community-wide volunteer opportunity that occurs every March. When it occurs on a day that the children have off from school, our children become a part of the tremendous volunteer effort on our campus. Our children usually aid in doing yard work, painting and other helpful tasks alongside the volunteers assigned to our agency.
