Helping Hands welcomes individuals to become involved. We believe that volunteers help our agency to spread love to the children at our agency and show them that there are people who care about them. The presence of volunteers also allows the children at our agency to be exposed to positive role models to influence their behavior. Volunteer opportunities can vary. Examples of activities with children are: 1.) Storytelling/Reading 2.) Sponsoring a Movie Night or Game Night 3.) Adopting a Birthday 4.) Having a Party 5.) Coming to do Arts & Crafts 6.) Tutoring Volunteer activities that do not directly involve children are: 1.) Having a Donation Drive 2.) Helping to do Yard Work 3.) Sorting and Organizing Donated Clothes Received 4.) Helping with General Maintenance (e.g. Painting and Patching) To become a volunteer at Helping Hands, it only requires the completion of five easy steps. These steps are: 1.) Requesting or downloading a volunteer application with our agency. 2.) Submitting a volunteer application for processing, which takes 4-6 weeks to complete. 3.) Attending a volunteer training session 4.) Submitting a documentation of freedom of communicable or contagious diseases. (TB test) 5.) Volunteering at Helping Hands (The Fun Part!)
