Helping Hands would like to extend special thanks to each individual, group, and business that made Christmas special for the children at our agency.   We were so fortunate to have the community to help our emergency home to make the Holiday Toy & Gift Drive a success as well as coming to Helping Hands to spend time with the children.

The Dixie Thunder-Aiken Chapter of ABATE of South Carolina and WAAW 94.7 Rejoice Radio Station in conjunction with McDonald Restaurant owners Tom and Pam Powers were two groups who contributed to putting smiles on the faces of children at Helping Hands this Christmas.  The Dixie Thunder-Aiken Chapter of ABATE of South Carolina with close to 200 motorcycle riders roared into Helping Hands in early December on their motorcycles for the 25^th Annual Toy Run they do for Helping Hands each year.  For this toy run, the riders were excited and came with all sorts of toys, games, and stuffed animals that lit up the eyes of the children. 

WAAW 94.7 Rejoice Radio Station along with Tom and Pam Powers added to the joy experienced at Helping Hands this Christmas.  They collected more than 1,000 toys and gifts for the children at the agency.  Seven days before Christmas, they served as Santa’s elves and presented the toys and gifts to our agency at McDonald’s on Richland Avenue with a live radio broadcast.

This Christmas at Helping Hands was certainly a magical and unforgettable time.  It could not have happened without the generosity and kindness of special people, groups, and businesses such as the Dixie Thunder-Aiken Chapter of ABATE of South, WAAW 94.7 radio station, Tom and Pam Powers, and YOU.  On behalf of the children, board members, and staff, we THANK YOU for showing what the Christmas spirit is truly about.
