Each summer, we love taking the children in our program to new and exciting places, and this summer wasn’t any different.
This year, we took trips to Whirlin’ Waters Water Park, Carowinds, the Art Nook in Aiken, Myrtle Beach’s Wonder Works, and to the Georgia Aquarium and the Center for Civil and Human Rights Museum in Atlanta. The kids thoroughly enjoyed cooling off, trying out new rides, and learning about a wide variety of subjects. These trips offered a chance for the kids to experience things they’ve never experienced before and to learn about different places outside of Aiken County.
Taking the children on these out-of-town trips is a costly venture, but through our Summer Blast Campaign, and the generosity of our supporters, we were able to send our youth without worry. We are so thankful for everyone who decided to take part in sponsoring Summer Blast. Whether you sponsored one child, multiple children, or an entire trip, Helping Hands thanks you.
Seeing how much the children enjoyed themselves keeps us motivated to raise more money to sponsor even more trips in the future. Please look out for our Summer Blast Campaign next year, and if you, or someone you know would like to know more about Summer Blast, please contact us at admin@helpinghandsaiken.org, or give us a call at (803) 648-3456.
