The Women of Woodside recently donated $1,250 to Helping Hands and Tri-Development Center to sponsor the Women’s Division in the 2019 Triple Crown Golf Classic.

The 24th annual golf tournament will be held March 25, 2019. The tournament benefits Helping Hands Inc. and the Tri-Development Center in Aiken.

Founded in 1973, Helping Hands is a private, nonprofit organization for child victims of abuse, abandonment and/or neglect. The Tri-Development Center works to help children and adults with disabilities, along with their families.

Chris Jakubec, the president of the Women of Woodside, said sponsoring the Women’s Division makes sense for her organization.

“We have a lot of women golfers,” Jakubec said. “This fits us and lets us contribute to two worthy agencies that we have supported for a long time.”

The Women of Woodside Inc. (WOW) is the women’s organization of the Woodside Communities.

Women of Woodside is dedicated to the well-being of its members and the Aiken community. Since its inception in 1988, WOW has contributed more than $1.3 million to the Aiken area.

It assists in supporting more than 30 charitable agencies and organizations. Women of Woodside also supports professional and academic cultural programs in the community.

“We are very excited to participate in the Triple Crown Golf Tournament this year as sponsor of the Women’s Division,” Jakubec said.
