A partnership between Helping Hands and the City of Aiken aims to invest time and education into the community’s next generation.
The program, Real Talk 4 Real Life, teaches children ages 9 to 18 job readiness, life skills and self-sufficiency.
“Real Talk is just what it says – real talk,” said Tiiu Goode, Aiken Youth Empowerment’s Director of Community Programs. “The goal is to provide the youth with information to help them live productive lives. The topics can range from finding a career, to budgeting, to managing stress. They will at some point have to face these things and we want to make sure they are prepared.”
