The time is here! The 2021-2022 school year has officially begun for Aiken County Public School District.
Before the school year begins, I make sure all our youth are set and ready to be successful for the year. Here’s a short glimpse at what we do to prepare.
I contact schools to make sure transcripts come through for our new residents, check PowerSchool for schedules for our returning students, work with our tutors to get backpacks filled with the school supplies that the community donates, and get our youth’s minds ready to set realistic goals they will be able to reach this year.
One thing I truly enjoy doing as the Education Advocate is being a voice for our youth when it comes to their education. You will see me, along with our Child Advocates and Staff, at the IEP/504 meetings, Parent/Teacher Conferences, School Night events, Sports events, the Principal office, and anything else that a parent would attend. I want them to know that we truly care for our youth and want what’s best for them during the school year.
So, we are looking forward to working with all School Administrators, Teachers, Counselors, and any other school officers to help make this a successful year for youth that comes into our care!
