The purpose of this program is to provide a constant and stable environment for youth in foster care. The program offers a nurturing curriculum that includes an employment and career-shadowing component, youth-focused workshops, year-round mentoring, and involvement in other Urban League youth initiatives. This program is for all youth in foster care that resides in Aiken County. Aiken County does not have to be their county of origin.
Ages: 15-20; Youth in foster care or those in family preservation (family is working with a DSS caseworker). Youth must RESIDE in Aiken County. Aiken County does not have to be their county of origin.
Meetings: Held weekly (or as needed)
Stipend: Up to $40 per month during the school year with the possibility of a job assignment during the summer
Requirements: Application, intake assessment, birth certificate, social security card, and Medicaid/insurance card
